http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYmmh9zkpQM - The best version of this song I've ever heard. Nobody can deny how incredible the performance is. I watched it for the first time yesterday and it really did send shivers down my spine.
I lost patience with Modern Warfare 2 and went back to BC2 last night, and had quite a blast! I'm only rank 8 and I seem to have fallen ridiculously behind everyone... And I still can't fly helicopters, and spent about 5 minutes flying my UAV along the ground and up hills before I worked out how to take off.
It seems like (from the little I've seen) that the community is crying out for physics and netcode updates, and keep being given content. As you say, it's such a contrast from other notable sims that I might play.
That was going to be a question I meant to ask... What happens when iRacing has too much content? To be honest I think it has too much already. You can only stagger races by so much. People will buy cars, expecting lots of racing, but you'll end up with rFactor syndrome with too many series and not enough competitors. Therefore iRacing will have to drop series from entire seasons, thus meaning the people who have bought the cars are not getting their money's worth because they can't actually drive the cars competitively all the time.
That's just my prediction. What do you guys think?
But the question is saying that the cars have started their journey at the speed they are travelling somehow. And 7000 rpm is 7000rpm in whatever gear you're in, which is surely the same amount of fuel. Maybe I'm not getting this.
I'd think it wouldn't make the difference, since if both cars are starting their journeys at that that speed (how? Reverse Italian Job style?), they didn't need to overcome the air resistance in order to get there. So 7000rpm in neutral would probably do the same, although the engine would probably explode. Maybe air intake and temperature need to be taken into account in these situations. The car at 130mph will surely be cooler than the one at 30.
On a good day, it's ridiculously easy to say 'hey, the next race is ONLY half an hour away, might as well wait around for it'. And before you know it, 6 hours have passed and you've not done anything worthwhile other than increased your safety rating. At least, this is what has happened to me. It feels like you're tied to your computer. I think it's called addiction.
I've been racing my Jetta around a fair bit today, and it was great fun. Sebring is a super-challenging circuit with some very technical corners and some other shit-your-pants corners. One lap I'll enter the final curve perfectly, then on the next I'll slam into a tyre barrier. Gotta work on my consistency.
It's a shame it only runs four days a week, every 2 hours. But I can see why. In the four races I did today there were around 10-15 in the first three and two in the last one, which was a little disappointing.
I can tell you about 2a, but it's been a while since I did these crazy GCSE things...
Essentially what the question is asking you is the possibility of the conversations being either 25-29 mins or 30-34 minutes (24.5 because 25 is 24.5 rounded to the nearest whole number). So you add up all of the conversations (55) and then divide the number of convos over 25 mins by 55 which comes to 0.2. And that's your probability. Don't quote me on that, but it seems to make sense to me.
I probably would have watched the whole thing had the series not gone to a pay-tv service here in the UK after season 2. I lost motivation after that. Not too bothered, though, plenty more fish in the sea.
Oh, and by the way what was that invisible steam train thing?
Thanks for the votes so far. I can't keep track of how I'm doing, so it's just a matter of waiting the two weeks for the result. The website actually shuffles the order randomly, so it's not as biased as I thought it was. But still, it's a little bit challenging to find who you're looking for.
I'm posting here to ask you guys for a big favour. Basically I entered a competition to be the 'Illinois ambassador for Route 66' which, if I managed to get it, would allow me to travel the Illinois section of Route 66, writing blogs and making video reports for their website. The first stage of the competition is the voting stage, so I would really appreciate it if you would vote for me (as many times as you like) through this form.
If I end the voting stage in the top five, I continue to the next stage where judges will... judge me somehow.
When you vote, you get the chance to win your own holiday to Chicago and Route 66, so it may well be worth your while! I hope you find the time to vote for me; I'd really appreciate it
Horrendous accident for Georgio Bartocci in the Lamborghini support race of the FIA GTs at Brno; the driver was seriously injured, but was in a stable condition a few hours ago apparently. Any news?
So, you have to be put under pressure by the press, answer questions and say 'the team made me lose the race, I don't want to talk to them right now because all I'll hear is blah blah blah'.
I'm sad to see that the Jetta isn't looking popular according to a few recent posts. Are the Jetta races sparsely populated? I'm kind of building up my SR in order to buy the Jetta, because I really fancy some FWD action.
